About «in a nutshell»

Did you know how often medical knowledge doubles? According to one study, 5x per year! This figure seems almost surreal! At Pro Medicus we asked ourselves what this means for the medical profession. What does it take to maintain an overview of all specialties in the hectic daily routine of a practice/clinic? Which tools or formats are most useful?

These considerations led to the creation of «in a nutshell» – the knowledge platform for primary care physicians developed by Pro Medicus GmbH and sponsored by Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine (SSGIM). The independent «in a nutshell» platform offers broad evidence-based expert knowledge with consistent focus on the aspects that are relevant to the doctors’ daily practice.  Our «on demand» offer includes various digital tools such as practice-relevant tips & tricks for a given specialty or an in-depth topics, diagnostic algorithms, online calculators, guidelines and other practical tools, structured continuing education tools.  Currently our main focus is to serve Swiss-based primary care physicians and therefore some of our further content is only available in most prevalent local languages (German and French).
